evening thoughts: confidence.

One of the many things that I've learnt during my twenty-two years of life is that it's important to learn try and become comfortable in your own skin. I was quite badly bullied whilst in secondary school (that's High School for most of you) and it really shook me to the core and caused me to doubt myself and self worth for years afterwards. However I had a bit of an epiphany today. I may be the size of a hobbit, I may have a small group of friends, I may not be the prettiest or the smartest but does any of that really matter? I'm happy with my life and job, I've come to accept the fact that I'm forever going to be the size of Frodo Baggins and I have some pretty amazing friends. In short it turns out that life isn't too bad and the days of dreading school and what went on are long behind me now. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there's no point in worrying about what other people think of you, as long as you're happy with yourself and you're life in general then hold you're head high and keep marching on. The best advice that I can give to anyone is be who you want to be - not what others want; every cloud has a silver lining; don't give a shit about what other people think and most importantly: enjoy every minute.
